Curriculum That Bridge The Gap To Upper Primary

To combat the infamous "P5 Dip", we have scaled up our curriculum with a strategic focus on incorporating materials and questions of higher difficulty.

This approach is designed to gradually build the students' competency and confidence, thereby reducing the significant jump in difficulty often experienced when promoting to Primary 5.

By challenging our students with advanced content and encouraging them to apply techniques diligently, we aim to foster a deeper understanding and mastery of the PSLE English requirements.

Contextualized Learning - Integration with Real World Themes

At Hess Academy, we embrace contextualized learning based on real-world themes to enhance the educational experience.

By creating linkages to events, people, places, and cultures, we make learning more relevant and engaging for our students. This approach not only brings lessons to life but also integrates seamlessly with themes commonly tested in the PSLE exam, ensuring that our curriculum is both practical and exam-focused.

By grounding education in real-world contexts, we add significant value to our students' learning, helping them understand the material deeply and apply their knowledge effectively in both academic and real-life situations.

Pushing for Precision and Excellence

Through stricter marking requirements, we encourage students to incorporating precision in their answers - a trait that is commonly overlooked.

Our approach emphasizes not only deriving the correct answer but also mastering the use of effective answering techniques. By honing these skills, students learn to articulate their thoughts methodically, leading to a deeper understanding and superior performance.

Pushing students to pay attention to detail and accuracy also generates more consistent performance that carries through to the upper years.

Our worksheets offers guidance in creative ways (eg. providing the first alphabet instead of entire words to select), that challenge your child, while not allowing them to "guess the answer". Ask us for a sneak peek into our in-house materials!

Forward Looking Curriculum, that is in line with MOE Syllabus

The mind is a powerful tool that can be stretched. Our curriculum requires students to think critically and move beyond their comfort zones, while keeping in tune with the MOE Primary English syllabus.
