Francis has held prominent teaching roles at respected institutions, including Raffles Junior College, Raffles College of Higher Education, Victoria Junior College, Tampines Junior College & Polytechnics in Temasek Polytechnic, Ngee Ann Polytechnic and Republic Polytechnic.
